The Attorney General, Letitia James did a superb job investigating the sexual harassment allegations made by multiple women against Gov. Cuomo. She was thorough, unbiased, and courageous in her search for the truth
Having been a victim of sexual harassment in the workplace and dealing with the feelings of humiliation and helplessness, I could feel what they were going through. Now that Gov. Cuomo is finally stepping down, I hope they will experience relief and encouragement as they go forward. Hopefully, a renewed awareness and new attitudes about the subject of sexual harassment/abuse will decrease the incidences. In any event, the Attorney General’s report, and Gov. Cuomo’s resignation, is a great victory for all the silent victims of sexual harassment and for all those who weren’t believed when they told their stories.
As Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul prepares for her new role as Governor, I hope she will strengthen the message that sexual harassment should never be tolerated in the workplace. She has been given a great opportunity to make positive changes that will set things in order and move NYS forward. I believe she will put into motion some of the wonderful points she spoke about in her interview.
